Year 5

In the autumn we have been reading Treasure Island, gosh how horrid those pirates were! We have been writing descriptive settings and have tried to write in the style of Robert Louis Stevenson. We created wonderful pirate poems and found out about oceans and seas. We thoroughly enjoyed performing in our assembly.  This photo shows part of our display when we designed our own pirate crew!

We looked at a painting called 'The Bridge of Maincy near Malun' by Paul Cezanne and studied his use of colour and how these colours merge.  We then produced our own paintings in this style.

On Friday 17th October Year 5 went to Bredon Hill Middle School and took part in the Tag Rugby Festival.  After weekly training sessions with coach, Damian Fitzmaurice the children were divided into two teams and ready for the matches.  They all played extremely well and showed great skill levels which had clearly developed as a result of their training.  Both teams were very successful but Team A made it to the final where they won 5-2.  A great afternoon for players and supporters!  Well done Year 5!
