Primary Festival of Languages
We are very proud of our multi-cultural education at Sedgeberrow First School. We have made international links with a school in Gambia and a little nearer to home, we are in contact with a school in Germany. Every year we organise themed days and have recently enjoyed a European day where the children dressed in costumes, learnt songs, dances and greetings. In Key Stage 1 modern foreign languages are creatively interwoven into the curriculum, whereas in Key Stage 2 the children are taught a lesson of French by Mrs. Hilpert Smith every week.
Recently, the Year 4 children attended the Primary Language Festival at Prince Henry's High School where they performed the play, 'French Pique-Nique'. They thoroughly enjoyed the day which was made even better when it was announced that they had won the festival!
