School Prospectus - Educational Visits
Educational Visits
Educational visits are arranged periodically for all children. These usually form an integral part of the children's work. Although every care is taken of the children, it should be understood that:
· the County Council accepts no liability other than in respect of enforceable third party claims against members of its staff.
· a parent may take out personal accident insurance covering the child against accidents or loss which may occur through no fault of any supervisory staff, and that such insurance is the responsibility of the parent.
· the school does arrange for Personal Accident Insurance for each child taking part in any activity which takes place outside the school premises. Details of this policy designed specifically for school parties are available from the school.
Residential Visits
We encourage children to take part in, and gain experience from, educational environments other than the classroom. These visits develop recreational and social skills. Our current policy is:
Year 3 a one night stay in the Summer Term
Year 4/5 an extended residential trip
Charging and Remissions Policy
1. The Governors recognise the valuable contribution that the wide range of additional activities, including clubs, trips and residential experiences can make towards the children's personal and social education.
Whilst at this school the children will be invited to take part in a variety of residential and non-residential trips and extra curricular activities.
2. The Governors and Headteacher will ask for voluntary contributions for activities that take place in school hours. When voluntary contributions are not forthcoming, the activity may have to be cancelled. No child will be excluded from any activities requiring voluntary contributions through failure to make such a contribution.
3. The Authority’s remission policy indicates that charges will be remitted in respect of all children whose parents are in receipt of income support, working families tax credit, job seekers allowance or disabled persons tax credit, and to single parents not in receipt of these benefits, provided that their weekly net income does not exceed a prescribed limit which is reviewed periodically.
